I tell people… My Mom was in a good assisted living situation, my wife is in a great one!

My wife has been at Senior Sanctuary of Anthem for almost 5 months. I was caregiver for over 2 years but it became too much for me to handle so the family started looking for an assisted living arrangement. My mother had spent 4 years in a good assisted living facility, so I thought I knew what to look for. After finding several good options, we came across Senior Sanctuary of Anthem and upon visiting we were amazed we were with what we saw! There was nothing institutional looking about it. It is a beautiful house inside and out. We moved her in as soon as possible to see what we thought. Now after having her there and visiting almost everyday for these 5 months I feel I can leave an informed review. I can’t imagine a better situation for my wife. The owner, Sam, sets a high standard for himself, his staff and the house. He is involved in running the home and has no stockholders to please. The only people he has to please are the residents, their families and his staff. The home is well taken care of inside and out. The back yard is almost like a park where families can take their loved one outside to talk and breathe fresh air. The staff, honestly, is amazing! And the house is well staffed with competent, caring people. They fix real meals, the cooks are great! A very caring and competent nurse is often at the house. When she isn’t there she is only minutes away at one of Sam’s two other homes in the neighborhood. There is a house Doc who regularly checks up on the people staying there. I never worry about my wife getting her meds because there is a meds supervisor who distributes the meds or supervises the people who distribute the meds. Every staff member there is my favorite! When my wife presses her “button”, someone is at her room within a minute, usually less. They are all people who I think really love the residents they work with! I could go on for pages about how wonderful the home and all of the people giving care there are. My wife would rather be at home with me, but she realizes that isn’t possible and told me, “If I can’t be at home I can’t think of a better place for me to be.” I tell people, “My Mom was in a good assisted living situation, my wife is in a great one!” at Senior Sanctuary of Anthem.
